HJC conducted market analysis with evidence based research to understand where the pain points lie with competitor products, this enabled us to identify key areas for improvement.
From detailed investigation into the market and current competitor products, there was a definite gap for a torch with added functionality and more refined aesthetics. It was evident that HJC’s design had to focus on strong surface expression to infuse a cohesive product design finish and feel. HJC developed numerous blue foam models during the process to test the ergonomic value and ensure user comfort.
The solution to the brief was a multifunctional torch with multiple hanging and standing angles to allow precise positioning with magnets to allow hands free operation. HJC coupled this with a strong visual design language for a highly functional torch with tasteful aesthetics. The outcome of our unique design process enabled the delivery of a sophisticated and well considered product.
