Market Research
Surgeons demand 100x more light than normal task lighting and they demand it without heat. This is because they work on red tissue and the human eye is weakest in the red part of the spectrum. This problem is compounded by removing infra-red heat, as IR-Filters also cut out a large part of the visible red spectrum.
Brandon Medical’s HD-LED technology has enabled the first surgical lighting with a high colour rendition across the full visible spectrum, allowing small differences in tissue to be vivid and vibrant. Astramax projects a light intensity of 130,000 Lux enabling it to compete on power with some of the largest operating lights, however, it is small, elegant and light-weight making it perfectly suited to minor procedures also.
